This morning they announced the Women’s Prize for Fiction longlist – twenty titles by the best women writers in the business. Formly the Orange Prize I don’t normally go in for award-winners, rather choosing to read the books that appeal solely to my tastes and judgement. HOWEVER. I feel the urge to break the mould and step out of my comfort zone so I think I am going to attempt to read all of these, and if not all, then most of them!
Kitty Aldridge A Trick I Learned From Dead Men
Kate Atkinson Life After Life
Ros Barber The Marlowe Papers
Shani Boianjiu The People of Forever are Not Afraid
Gillian Flynn Gone Girl

Courtesy of the Guardian Online. This is cheating as I’ve already read Gone Girl and am halfway through Life After Life by Kate Atkinson but here I go – delving into a longlist! Who else is reading these? Any favourites?
