‘Based on Posy Simmonds’ beloved graphic novel of the same name (which was itself inspired by Thomas Hardy’s classic Far From the Madding Crowd) this wittily modern take on the romantic English pastoral is a far cry from Hardy’s Wessex.’
I’m still not sure how much I like this film, I do like it I just can’t decide if I love it. I thought it was much better than Going the Distance which I saw a few weeks ago. Some bits of it were quite unrealistic but then what is a film! I loved the setting and would happily move there, it seems to be fling central.
Quite dark in places but very funny, I didnt even recognise Dominic Cooper as the same actor from Mamma Mia. Great british comedy. Go and see it, I love the portrayal of the writer’s and how lusty they all are. It’s brilliant, I’ve talked myself round!
